
The low-cost arm of Singapore Airways, Scoot, has introduced new flights to its second European and third long-haul vacation spot, Berlin, set to for take-off within the second half of 2018.
The four-times-weekly Singapore-Berlin service will probably be operated on Boeing 787 Dreamliners, topic to regulatory approval. Berlin would be the SIA Group’s fourth vacation spot in Germany, after Düsseldorf, Frankfurt and Munich, that are operated by Singapore Airways.
“Scoot’s merger with Tigerair Singapore earlier this 12 months has significantly strengthened our place, standing us in good stead to launch and maintain our long-haul operations,” Scoot chief govt officer Mr Lee Lik Hsin says.
“Athens has lived as much as our expectations whereas bookings for Honolulu have been very promising.
We’re excited to deliver our distinctive Scootitude to Berlin and may’t wait to launch these nice worth fares that Scoot is understood for!”
Scoot intends to launch gross sales for Berlin within the first quarter of 2018.
The German capital, a hub inside Europe for technological innovation with a robust entrepreneurial and start-up tradition, is famed for its arts and tradition, having been designated a “Metropolis of Design” by UNESCO in 2006 and included in UNESCO’s Inventive Cities community.
Scoot’s present route community contains 62 locations throughout 16 international locations, with companies to Honolulu launching in December, and Kuantan flights commencing in February 2018.
Scoot operates a fleet of 16 787 Dreamliners and 23 Airbus A320 household plane, with 4 extra Boeing 787 Dreamliners and 39 Airbus A320neo plane on order.
